Setup your position

The goal is to be as close as possible to your natural riding position on the bike. Ideally, use a home trainer to ride “as if in real life” in front of your camera. If you don’t have one, lean against a wall and pedal backward. Got a fixie? All that’s left is to rent a home trainer from Bikeis.

Record yourself

Film yourself for 5 to 10 pedal rotations, making sure your entire body is in the frame. When you upload, only the middle 10 seconds of your video will be used. Find all our tips here.

Analyze video

Is it taking a while? Don’t worry—sometimes our algorithm is swamped with requests. Grab a coffee, and when you come back, discover the results of your bike fitting session: knee angle, foot position, aerodynamics… we’ll give you all the details!

Improve

We designed Posturise to help you continuously improve your posture without having to wait three months for an appointment or spend €150 per session—take advantage of it! Even after multiple analyses, your body can change over time. One guiding principle: keep perfecting!

Why optimize your cycling posture?

Find your ideal riding position to increase comfort, improve performance, and reduce the risk of injuries. A better riding position is a great way to:

  • Eliminate shoulder pain
  • Increase endurance
  • Prevent injuries
  • Eliminate numbness and discomfort from the saddle
  • Eliminate back and knee pain
  • Improve pedaling power

Continuous adaptation

Cyclists can adjust their position based on changes in their physical condition, pedaling technique, or modifications to the bike itself (such as the installation of new components).

Personalized tracking

This feature is ideal for those experiencing physical changes, such as improved flexibility or weight changes, or who have evolving performance goals.

Your questions about online bike fitting analysis

Your bike! Ideally, you should do the posture analysis with all your usual gear to simulate real conditions as closely as possible. Then, you have two options:

  • No home trainer? No worries, it’s not essential. Position yourself against a wall and film yourself from the side, on the drivetrain side, while pedaling backward.
  • Have a home trainer? Great! Take a few minutes to warm up before filming yourself, again from the side, with the camera on the drivetrain side.

Posturise is an online platform specializing in bike fitting, which means adjusting a cyclist’s posture on their bike to optimize comfort, performance, and reduce injury risks. Here’s how Posturise works:

  1. Profile Creation: Start by creating a profile on the platform, where you can enter basic information about yourself and your bike.
  2. Video Capture: To analyze your posture, you need to film yourself pedaling on your bike. This video is then uploaded to the platform. Follow our guide here.
  3. AI Analysis: Posturise’s artificial intelligence analyzes your video to assess your posture based on biomechanical criteria like shoulder position, knee alignment, hip placement, and more.
  4. Personalized Report: After the analysis, you receive a detailed report with recommendations for adjustments, such as saddle height and handlebar position.
  5. Ongoing Adjustments: The platform allows you to perform multiple analyses over time to gradually refine your position, especially if your physical condition or bike setup changes.
  6. Continuous Tracking and Improvement: You can track and compare your bike fitting sessions to see the evolution of your posture and continuously fine-tune your bike adjustments.

This method enables cyclists of all levels to improve their bike posture in an accessible and accurate way, leveraging advanced technology for personalized adjustments.

Option 2: Have Your Bike Posture Analysis Done in a Clinic

There are many options available, such as sports physiotherapists or bike shops. In any case, budget between €200 and €350. Generally, these in-person analyses allow for precise adjustments, especially for cleat positioning. You can find specialized professionals here.

We offer a simplified and cost-effective approach to online bike fitting. Our service focuses on the essentials: personalized adjustment of saddle and handlebar height, taking into account the cyclist’s unique body shape and bike setup. The main goal of your fitting session is to ensure that the position and movement of your feet, knees, shoulders, pelvis, and arms are correct and tailored to each individual.

What is bike fitting?

Bike fitting is a personalized process aimed at perfectly adjusting a bike to fit its rider. This practice combines science, technology, and expertise to optimize the cyclist’s comfort, efficiency, and performance while minimizing the risk of injuries. It’s a crucial step for any cyclist—whether amateur, enthusiast, or professional—as it ensures that the bike’s setup precisely matches their body, needs, and cycling goals.

The bike fitting process typically begins with a detailed evaluation of the cyclist, including body measurements, flexibility, strength, and pedaling style. This assessment is often enhanced by biomechanical analysis using advanced technology like video analysis, motion capture, or even pressure sensors, which provide an in-depth understanding of the cyclist’s dynamics on the bike.

Adjustments can include modifying the saddle height and position, the angle and length of the stem, the width and orientation of the handlebars, as well as the positioning of the cleats and pedals. Each adjustment is made to optimize the rider’s posture, improve comfort on the bike, increase pedaling efficiency, and prevent pain or injuries that may arise from long rides or intensive training.

Bike fitting is a blend of art and science, where the fitter’s expertise refines the data collected through technology to create a custom solution. The goal is to create a seamless connection between the cyclist and their bike, allowing for a more enjoyable, high-performing, and sustainable cycling experience. Ultimately, a successful bike fitting results in a notable improvement in overall performance, a reduction in discomfort and pain, and an increase in the overall joy of riding.
